Getting Used to the Team
Being my last week here, it's been so much fun getting to know all of the team that I round with. The attendings and residents are used to having me around now and call/text me with questions when I'm not there so I feel like I'm contributing a lot and my opinion is valued. Yesterday ID made an odd suggestion about giving a very high dose of Septra to discharge a patient and the resident gave me a call to double check the dose. I recommended to be a little more cautious because of his declining renal function and the resident would bring that up to the team.
We sometimes go for coffee after rounds to go through the patient list and the attending likes to pay to show appreciation for the work of the whole team!

It's nice to see that clinical pharmacy is pretty progressive here as well though I think that has a lot to do with my preceptor changing the notion because I'm on one of the rarer teams that have a rounding clinical pharmacist.
